Season 2016-17 Opening Day and Championship start

Last Saturday saw a well attended Opening Day event that started with the Season Opening Jack and Bowl bowled by the the Women's Club Secretary Margaret Remi-Kenyon and the Men's Club Patron, George Keruse followed by a very social combined roll-up and subsequent afternoon tea in warm conditions offering the promise of a great season ahead. 


The following Sunday saw the the start of the opening Championship event of the new season's calendar for the Men with the qualifying rounds of the of the Handicap Pairs played.  3 rounds were able to completed  before the weather changed as forecasted, curtailing the start of the final round of qualifying matches.  Next Sunday will see the last round of qualifying completed before Semi-finals and Finals which will be played in the afternoon.
