After a marathon effort 2 weeks earlier to find qualifiers for both the Men's Handicap Singles and Championship Singles, Finals Day for the Championship Singles was played on 11 December.
Quarter Final Match ups and Semi Final match ups were as follows, winners in bold.
Quarter Finals
Scott Harrison v Warren Tritt
Steve Kirwan v John Thompson
Rex Bell v Odie Walter
Paul Jerrom v Chis Watkins
|
Semi Finals
Steve Kirwan v Warren Tritt
Paul Jerrom v Odie Walter
|
The final saw Odie take an early lead but Warren continued the steady and accurate bowling he had displayed in the earlier games to level up and then trade the lead with Odie across the first half of the match.
The decisive break came with Warren leading 11-9 where he took two consecutive ends with 3 points in each to stretch out his lead and was not headed across what were to be the final four ends, winning 21-12.
Congratulations to Warren, the fourth different winner in 5 years, showing that the Men's Singles title is hard earned and even harder to defend.
