The Men's Handicap pairs event concluded today with the semi finals and final completed on the the Clubs artificial green after heavy rain earlier in the day left the grass greens out of action.

The semi finals saw a change in pairings, with 5th qualifiers Allan Moyle & John Thompson (s) coming in to replace the the Terry Barrett skipped pairing who were unexpectedly unavailable for today.

The Thompson skipped pairing gave away a 3 point handicap start to Artem Chesnokov and Scott Harrison (s) in the first semifinal, but managed to open strong lead in very changeable conditions that included a delay for hail !
That lead was eventually whittled away in last 5 ends and saw the Harrison skipped pair through 18-17 to the final with a two on last of 16 ends.
The second  semifinal saw  first year bowlers Chris Watkins & Mark Waugh (s) up against Ron Lamont & Paul Griffiths (s) who were giving away an 11 point handicap start to the new bowlers.  That start proved to be too great with Chris & Mark running out 24 -12 winners.

The final  saw Artem & Scott settle well early & and with good leading they overhauled the 3 point handicap start of Chris & Mark quickly, and despite some excellent draw bowls from the latter pairing, the consistency of both Artem & Scott saw them run out winners of this years Handicap Pairs,  20 to 9.

Another excellent effort again from the clubs Year 1-5 bowlers who made up much of the qualifying field and 6 of today's finalists.
